Default OEM Honda LSD from HMO.com

Is it worth it for the extra $300 to get the OEM LSD from Honda Motors Online with my B16? I plan on racing my hatch casually, and autocrossing with it. I don't plan on having anymore hp than what I get from basic bolt ons, not going anything big like nitrous or FI. Should I get the LSD or save the $$ for bolt ons?

Your opinion and input is really appreciated.

definitely get it...

The LSD itself is worth at least $300. Hell, if you had to pay a shop to install one after-the-fact, you'd pay them at least $3-400 more.

Drive a frontwheel drive car with one and you'll never go back to an open diff again.

i thought the LSD won't work on the B16 tranny. Heard it only works on the s80 tranny like GSRs.

Why did they make a CTR tranny with lsd then?

he's right, You silly bear, remember, any b-series tranny bolts up with any b-series engine, b18c can come with lsd so why couldn't the b16?

just for more verification
the b18c5 can come with LSD
not b18c1. (not stock at least)
but yes, the sirII had lsd as an option
and it was standard on the ITR and CTR.

there was optional LSD on almost all honda trannies in JDM land, that includes SOHC VTECs, auto trannies in some accords, and even on the JDM B18c(1) their GSR (SiR and SiR-G)

My JDM B16a1 had an OEM LSD.

And you can use a GSR/ITR/CTR LSD in a B16a tranny housing. You just need to trim the inner webbing to make it clear. Not a big deal.

But if you don't trim then the LSD from an S80 housing won't fit a B16a housing.

Also, The B16a LSDs are clutch style and the CTR/ ITRs are helical gear style.
