ECU help!
Hey. I have a 97 Civic DX (D16Y7). I'm having problems with my ecu so I bought one to replace it on Craigslist. The guy said it was from a 99 DX but I think it's actually from an LX. It's a 37280-P2E-A12.. the one in my car is a 37280-P2E-A02. I didn't realize these two civic models have different transmissions? Is there any way I can make this thing work, or did I screw myself buying this thing? Thanks!

'96-'98 is different from '99-'00; OBD2A vs OBD2B.

You should have bought one for a '96-'98 Civic. You could either sell it and get the right one, or you could buy an OBD2A to OBD2B conversion harness.

Really not worth it considering a stock OBD2A P2E isn't worth near that. Just look for a used one someone pulled out when they were doing a swap. Make sure its for a '96 - '98. And if its an automatic, get an ECU from an automatic, likewise if its a 5 speed get one from a 5 speed.
