Default Help with 95 Ex Hood to bumper gap- Searched.

Hey guys, ive had my civic for a year now and finally cant stand the gap in my front end any more. Ive seen a few that have perfect hood to bumper transitions and im hoping its a simple adjustment. I've tried lowering the hood latch but they didnt solve the problem. As far as I know and have checked there was never any front end damage to the car. hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction. And for anyone just looking to be a moron, I've searched 10 pages of results and did not find the answer I was looking for.

If you have already tried to adjust your hood down, why don't you attack it from the opposite end?

Pop your hood, and take out the 5 philips head bolts that hold the bumper cover down between the headlights. Then remove the metal filler plate.

Pull the bumper cover up a bit and shove a 1/8" or 1/4" spacer between your cover and the beam support. It looks like 1/8" will probably take up most of your gap, but you may need to go 1/4".

I would recommend tracing the metal filler plate onto a spacer and cut it out. That will give you the exact shape you need. If you just use washers or something underneath each bolt, it could sag or warp in the heat.

Doing this will also take care of the gap I can see that's directly underneath your headlights.

Just an idea off the top of my head.

Someone probably stood on your core support or something pushed it down at one time. I got mine to fit correctly by putting plastic spacers in between the bumper and core support kind of like Jonathan ED3 suggested.
