NO HEAT and its freezing out Help plz
I have a 96 honda civic with a B18B1 Ls non Vtec motor and i gots no heat in it, its freezing out side and raining and im staring to get frustrated**ggggrrrrrrrr*. Ik its not the thermostat cuz the temp guage works fine i have checked all fuses and then i even lossened the hoses to see if fluid was coming out of them. and yes it did. now there is something there that i didnt know what it was next to the 2 hoses that go into the firewall there was a small line with a metal wire in it that that seemed to move in and out. Not sure of its suppose to be in or out. Now there was someething else i didnt know what it was. The hose coming from the actual motor, not radiator, has something in it. the hose comes out of the side of the motor to a black ummm ill just call it a thing then another hose on the other side of that that goes into the firewall.
just because the temp gauge works fine doesnt mean the coolant is up to operating temp.
f/e....my car can run all the way up to about 210 before it gets past the "normal" mark.
if you think the t stat is fine, grab the in and out hoses to the heater core and see if one is warm. if both are, it is working. if only one is, then the heater control valve is bad or the core is clogged.

what boostedcivicsir said 100% also check underdash by the heater box to see if maybe the cable came loose from it....the cable controls opening and closing of the air mix door
