i want to swap in an H22a1 in my 00 civic, would like you guys opinion on this.
Iam thinking about swapping in an h22a1 (92-95) in my 00 civic. For the money they say its the best bet. what do you guys think, need some opinions..
also, buy my sleeved high comp NA H22A1 ill throw in free rods (3 of 4), pistons (good cond), and a new crank.
Don't mess with the H22A1 if you're going to do a swap. Look into a JDM H22A and mind your local emissions standards.

Get one from Japanesestarmotor.com. Its free shipping! Can't beat that. I got both my JDM H22A($900.00) & T2T4 LSD($900.00) Trans with free shipping to my door. Very good customer service IMO. Go all out with an Euro R tranny; you won't regret man.
get the 96 jdm h22a and i dont recommend the m2a4 trani i have it right now its ok but the gear ratios are a little werid
iam going to get the h22a motor from hmotorsonline.com i hear nothing but good stuff from them and their motors, iam going to change the tranny later in the future to a b-series tranny

If you want i know someone locally (in canada) that is selling the COMPLETE swap for $2000 obo. That is Canadian currency, meaning even after shipping it will probably cost you about $2100ish US dollars.

+1 on hmo, just did the swap and the engine was in so great of condition people passing through my dad's shop thought that it was brand new and freshly assembled from the factory. NirVTEC, we're in FL where we don't have those emission laws, there aren't even decibel level laws for things like exhaust systems. FL>CA
The only thing I really have to add is that you need to mind the ground clearance for your exhaust system. IIRC, the collector will rest real close to the ground, so you might want to think about that in regards to the condition of the roads in your area.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think someone did a "/weight argument" thread a while back and IIRC, there really is only about 40lbs difference between the 2 motors minus accessories due to different variations on your bolt-ons like the intake and exhaust manifolds etc. I don't really see making this another weight argument over 40lbs.

But it's better to stiffen the suspension to accomodate this weight difference. I swapped H22A7 to my friend's civic and he forgot to upgrade the rear suspension and he was chasing Mazda RX8 and on the bump the rear jumped and the car turned around and flew out of the street. The car rolled over twice and killed a cow
