Default looking to get car repainted

Hello, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section, I'm new to this site. But anyways I'm looking to get my 98 accord painted and was wondering if anyone does this as a hobby and could paint my car for me? I'm just looking to get it repainted the OEM black color no engine bay, just the outside, if so just let me know how much, and where your located at, thank you. I live in southern California 90706 area code.

if no body work is required, i would recommend just getting the 299 maaco 1 stage, we did this on my brothers first car and it turned out great and still looks fine up until when i sold it a few months ago. It does fade quicker but you shouldnt have that issue with black.

Heres what it looked like...

Hello, thanks for the advice and the picture. I was thinking about going to a place like that but was wondering how the paint would come out. But the car in the picture looks great, after seeing it i was sold, thanks again.

It really helps if you do some prep before going to Maaco...like scuffing the paint. or at least make sure that you pay an extra needed for a clear coat and prep. Most of the people that have problems with Maaco end up with the cheap spray with hardly any prep, so the paint starts to peel.

I was checking out your tread on your integra, your car looks really nice. So i should make sure they scuff the paint and do the correct prep work before painting it. Or even maybe pull some of the little dents and try so scuff the paint, and prep the car a little bit up my self before i take the car to get it painted yeah? Thanks for the help and advice.

Thanks man, yeah it's getting there, haha.

If it were me, I would do some research on how to do body work and do all of the dents and scuff the whole car yourself. That way you know exactly what they're putting it over. That said, if you end up not getting something quite right it could end up worse than having them do it. Maybe the thing to do is to do some research (there's a sticky on the top of the Paint and Body forum...and getting a book is a good idea), and see if you feel like it is something you can tackle. If not, then yeah, just make sure they do all needed prep (I'm sure you have to pay extra for that.)
