Default Accords low or high compression?

I just read on a different forum that the 98-02 accord 4cyl have low compression engines which make the prime for turbos and NOS. I always thought my accord was high compression which makes them difficult to add turbos.

Does anyone else know if they are high or low?

The 98-02 Accord's had a compression ratio of 8.8:1 or 9.3:1. In term's of adding boost, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Bump for someone with more excperience.

Anything under 10:1 is definitely low compression. 8.8:1 & 9.3:1 are compression ratios that are definitely suitable for boost. There are a few other things to take into consideration when thinking about boost other than compression ratio. Strength of the engine and it's internals being two of the more important ones.

Low compression (as Ghostaccord mentioned). With the exception of the H series, most all Honda engines have moderate compression ratios.

It's generally accepted that F22's can tolerate 7 to 8 pounds boost on stock internals.
That may not seem like much, but it will be enough to get you around that snotty kid in the v6 Nissan
