How much is my car worth?
I found a note under the wiper blade on my car today. Someone wants to buy my car, and they want to know how much I would sell it for. They left me with their name and number. The problem is, I dont know how much my car is worth. So I am wanting to know what you all think its worth. And please be honest.
1983 Honda Civic 1500DX
1.5 liter sohc 12 valve engine
5 speed manual trans
108,000 miles
Pros-
New struts all the way around
New rotors, drums, and pads.
New axels
New tie rods
New tires on hx rims 175/65R14
jdm honey comb grill
Rebuilt carburator
New 2" exhaust from the manifold back
It starts runs well for the most part. Cold starting may be a bit of an Issue of you've never owned a carburated car.
In good mechanicle condition.
New paint on most of the car including the roof.
I know theres more, but I dont remember at the moment.
Cons-
Seats are rough
Carpet is a bit worn
Slight rust on the seam weld as well as in front of the drivers side rear tire.
Fenders are also rusty.
Burns a little oil.
Old pictures but the car pretty much looks the same. Only difference in some of the pictures would be the old grill and the roof wasnt painted at the time.

in the general sales it isn't worth much.
in the collectors and people that care about the cars it is worth a chunk more.
you have a clean car and if you are willing to sell it, i think you would be doing us all a favor by making sure whoever buys isn't just gonna hack it up for drag or some other retarded sht. treat it like a job interview.
we had a customer with a 91 CRX Si. older lady, drove it minimally and maintained it perfectly. it had 84k miles on it in 2006-7 the best i remember. she had offers non stop to buy it but wouldn't sell.
til one day she came in with another car and i asked about the CRX. she had given it to her son. who totaled it in 2 months.

I don't see collector's really asking for this model Civic. I'm figuring the person that is interested in your car is probably going by gas mileage and not by "old school" Civic. I think it would be a stretch to get $2,000 for it, but if you don't have to sell in a hurry, I wouldn't take less than $1,500.

It was my wifes first car. She had a maroon 1500. I think it would be cool to find another one.
She cried when the car got towed to the junk yard. We still have all the emblems that she took off the car. That was about 12-13 years ago.

Like the one below? That was my 1983 model 1500. And my Mom's 1988 Accord.
I'm not going to agree with the majority but if you were in CA (not sure about the demand in WI) but you could ask for $2500-$3000. Maybe more depending on the buyer.
If I saw your car on the street, I would stop just to stare at it for a bit.

If you arent really motivated to sell it just set a high price on it...I wouldnt part for less than 2k if I was you. I sold my beat on 83 for 850 with no interior...so I think if it has interior, decent exterior, then let it go for no less than 2k
Hey, take a look at CL ads in the bigger cities and search 1983 honda, and see what other people are asking. You won't see many out there and take note that many higher priced ones stay for sale for a long time.
Check the west coast espicially the NW, lots of hodas were in the NW.
But that one is too nice to sell, keep it, save gas and be happy. If they didn't put an offer on the note, they want to low ball you.
Put it in 'thisoldhonda.org' 1stgencivic.org and japanesenostalgiccar.com.
And Yes, please see that it would go to someone that would appreciate it too.
