Hondata flashpro on 00-05 s2000
I've been looking at prices for Kpro and all the parts so the ap1 can use Kpro. This adds up to around 1800-2000 dollars. I was looking into what would be needed to convert a 2000 S2000 over for the new Hondata flash pro. This looks better and CHEAPER. possible or just a waste of time and money?

• Drive-By-Wire Throttle System. Use a computer sensor to input throttle as opposed to pulling on the throttle cable
• Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control. A combination of computer controlled throttle and individual wheel braking to control sudden changes in vehicle behavior. VSA has a turn-off switch where the defrost button (moved) used to be.
• CARB emissions rating is now LEV-2
• Passenger-side airbag cutoff
• IAC Valve has been eliminated, along with the cruise control hardware; it is all controlled by the ECU for the DBW system. A gas pedal cable runs into the engine compartment to an actuator. From there it's electronic.
• New intake manifold, intake support bracket, and injector cover
• Only one cam sensor
• New style map sensor
• IAT sensor has moved to the rubber intake tract
• Differential now has a breather box mounted behind it
• Fuel line at engine is now a quick-release type
• Air pump, associated lines and control valve, have been eliminated
• Fan switch in the radiator has been replaced with a second CTS, in turn the fans are now computer controlled
• HO2S in the header is now referred to as an Air fuel ratio sensor

I know that I wouldnt need a new motor for this. I could understand wiring and when you have a Ap1 and go with Kpro, you need a new ECU any ways. The ap1 ECU will work with a older ap2. A lot of people do this who swap the motors out so the wiring is the same.
my motor will already be out and im switching every thing over so I can use Kpro. I wounder if it would be as easy as changing the throttle bodys out and every thing so I could use the newer one...

Have you tried google? I did and found lots of threads on other boards of people wanting to switch their drive-by-wire Honda/Acuras to old-fashioned throttle cables or vice versa but didn't find anyone who actually did. I doubt you can do it for less than $1,400 (the price difference between KPro and FlashPro).
I dont think it has all the features of Kpro, maybe I need to read it again I only visited that when it was in development.
I would say its not worth it because of everything that would need to be changed. The 06+ have a lot of electronics and junk that are not interchangeable to the AP1. Imagine on the simplest levels, this swap will add up to more than a KPro I think.
AP2v2 wire harness
AP2v2 ECU + key + immobilizer programmed together
that should already make up for a lot of the difference in cost I think.
the solution for a cheap Kpro is to find a USED PRB(RSX) Kpro that's designed for the K series. Hondata IIRC only charges 450$ to convert it into the S2000 Kpro. Ive found the PRB Kpro's for under 700$ some times, stack on the 450 and you're at 1150 for a perfectly functional S2Kpro. +250 for the sensors/valvecover and the bill is at ~1400$ which isn't bad for what it is imo.

I'm sure anything is possible but the point is the program is designed for DBW setups and runs accordingly. I doubt it would be cost effective or realistic to do it on a standard non DBW setup. Thats the adult answer you need to hear.
I get what your saying Kyle. I don't know if it can be done or not though.
I am in a debate now with Kpro or AEM. I love that the AEM is plug and play, but I like the reviews and numbers on Kpro a lot better. The only problem is, I dont want to reaplce everything it takes to run Kpro.
meh, good luck in your hunt.

Of course I read the post, I don't go around reading the first line and skipping the rest.

Thank you, I dont think I will be doing so any more...
AEM is hardly what I would call plug and play. they give you sticky **** to mount the EMS that hardly fits in the OEM location so you buy the harness for 200 dollars to move it under your seat or into a worse place. then to top it all off, you dont pass emissions and you wont get CELs if some thing is messing up.

You know any good kpro threads anywhere?
you'd have to swap out the 06+ cam/crank triggers to use the 06+ ecu
you'd have to swap the entire wiring harness to add the dbw parts and source an 06+ ecu.
for sure not worth the money.
kpro on any of the older cars that requires swapping the cam/crank senors is for sure not worth the money.

We dont have inspections or any thing. you just pull up and they plug you in and check to make sure you dont have a CEL. I'll just go with Kpro. I was hoping to get lucky with this...
