Default '96 4Runner for the Mall *****...

A few new shots of my 4Runner. Pretty simple truck, but it does everything I need it to do well. Especially burnouts in gravel for the middle school girls soccer team...

Hopefully a diesel will be in there early next year...

I have always been pissed that we didnt get the diesel toyota hilux pickup here

How hard is the diesel swap? I looked into it briefly but seemed expensive

Seems silly but I wonder if there are places that import them??

A 1KZ-TE bolts right in to 3rd gen 4Runners and Tacomas. The trans crossmember needs to be relocated but thats easy because once you get the engine in, just bolt in the trans and reweld the crossmember.

Diesel Toyz does the wiring if you want. They also sell the timing belt kit.

Pretty pricey for the swap but very reliable and can make 300 ft/lbs or torque with a Dtronic of Steinbauer box. 3" exhaust or bigger turbo gets you even more.

I so want one...

Where are you getting the motor from and what do they usually charge for one?

I have had a few toyota pickups over the years including an 84 that had a vortec 4.3 But building a diesel one sounds like fun

Thanks. Intercooler is hard to plumb but I'm definitely going to slap one on somehow. They make an OEM scooped hood for 4Runners, so a top mount is super easy

I see front clips on ebay for $4K, but they're the older versions of the engine.

I want the KZN185 variant, and I think this is the only place to get them.
