Coilover Help!
Alright i am in kinda of a dilemma ....i want to you wit money not bein an issue what would be the best coilovers to but for my 98 civic Hb that will have an H2b swap in it very soon please all answers will be appreciated
Huh?
Ok, you don't NEED coilovers with an H22. You don't NEED to upgrade the entire suspension.
That's ridiculous. H22's aren't THAT heavy, or produce THAT much power.
OP. You will be fine with a set of good coilovers such as TEIN, S2, even Ground Controls with a decent strut would be sufficient.
But if money is no option and you just want to spend a **** load of money for no real reason, go with some ZEAL's or something.

If you don't want GC's or Tein's, I hear D2 gets you pretty low.
Some other alternatives for full coilovers that are under or around 1k
(which really isn't high) would be, Skunk2, Buddy Club, Function & Form, Ksport, Megan.

ground controls are good coilovers. i have them on stock struts and it doesnt ride bad at all. but if you want a full body...function and form type 1s are about $700. i have heard good things bout f&f coilovers
You also need to realize that slammed and "good" ride don't generally go hand in hand. Something else to consider is a slammed car puts the cvs at a bad angle and can destroy them. Just a little food for thought.
well my car is on tein type s springs its 2.5 inches dropped i wanna go 1 t 1.5 more inches just to clear up the wheel well space thats dont wanna have to do the tuck wheel or have worry bout bottoming out on a twig
Functionform ride great while being slammed. Due to the fact they are adjusted at the lower mount, not the perches like your normall coil over.
Also slammed is different for everyone. Someone may think there car is slammed at 2.5 inches. While for me you have to almost tuck
Functionform type 1 or 2 should be where you look. Good price for a great product
I reccomend type 2

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
$1k really isn't much to spend on a nice set of coilovers. I doubt you can get a real nice set for $1k unless they're used/stolen or you have a crazy hook up.
Ground controls and Konis are nice...but if you're going to be slammed, it's not that great of an idea. They're not full body adjustable.
Tein's MonoFlex looks nice. They seem to ride really well and last a long time. They're around $1500-1700.
My friend bought SKUNK2 PRO C's for his car. Full body adjustable. 16 levels of damping adjustment. I can't say much for shock dyno plots or anything like that...because who the F wants a shock dyno plot on a $1100 coilover? I don't know if the damping adjustment is linear or accurate....But the ride quality is really really nice. The car is slammed and it still rides very well. He tracks it and they've been holding up so far. I didn't think they'd be all that great...because of the cost. He got them on a hookup price for around $900 something. I thought they were going to be placed in the trash in the next few days. But they've actually been pretty decent.
You need a full body adjustable coilover with a reputable name. In your price range, the Skunk2 Pro C is probably going to be the way to go.
Buddy Club N+ or Buddy club RSDs are another good consideration.
I'd run away from D2s, Megans, Omnis, etc. The same friend with the Skunk2s used to have D2s on another car. I think the only person who hated them more than me was him. I also have other friends with D2s that had similar experiences. They ride decent for the first few months or so. Then it all goes down hill. Garbage.
If money really wasn't an issue, I'd probably go with something European with full body adjustability. Like Ohlins or Moton. But spending $3-5k just to slam a car is stupid. The ride would be ridiculously good along with body control...but still. I spent the $$ because I track my car. European coilovers are freaking awesome.
The Koni/GC combo is pretty nice. Full coilovers would be better, but for around $800, they handle nice and the ride is pretty decent.
An NA H series isn't going to produce more power than a turbo'd B series, it only weighs like 60lbs more. It's kind of funny people suddenly think suspension has to be top of the line.

i need new suspension anyways my teins have been on there for quite a while now and then sat still for 6 months and now driving again they alright but i wanna go lower for sure and i dont see the point in buying 2-5000$ coilovers for nothing i not a pro track racer or anything just want something simple like the FunctionForm,or BuddyClub i dont want the GC/koni combo everyone round here has is
and if you dont care about adjusting the dampening rate of your shocks then just get the function form type ones with a higher spring rate for your front since your running a h2b. lastly, if you just want coilovers then ground controls are the best!
I have the D2's on mine and I'm happy with them so far. I did alot of research before choosing them, and money was not a factor. One feature that they have is a 0" to 4" drop... No, I would never drop my car 4", but being able to put it to stock height is nice. Some of the coilover kits I found had a minimum drop of like 1" or something like that... another plus is that D2 makes replacement springs in various kg/mm's which you can pick up from the company direct for $100 a pair, so you can always tweak after-the-fact...
