Default Z6 intake on Y7 head

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has tried or knows if the D16Z6 intake manifold will fit the D16Y7 head?

And I was also wondering what would need done to fit the Z6 head on the Y7 block for the mini me and if there is a real benefit to doing so?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide!!

Z6 manifold on Y7 head = yes
z6 head on y7 bottom end= bolts right on, no problems

...as far as mini-me motors I was more impressed with a y8 head on the non-vtec bottom ends. Good luck with your project

Thanks very much boosted. So all that would need done is wiring for the Z6 head on there? I have a p2p ecu.

yes you need the ecu, vtec solenoid/pressure plugs, wire, solder, shrink wrap, and some extra ecu pins

The more I've been reading into doing the mini-me swap the less I want. Seems as if people have a lot of problems with timing. Maybe I'll just do the intake manifold, I heard the Z6 manifold makes the most power out of the D series.

just run a y8 intake manifold if you want to stay non vtec no wiring modifications needed if you use a automatic intake manifold, also if you do a mini me to id still use a y8 just because of the extra sensors on a z6 and the y8s are better more hp with the y8, if you compare the 2 its easy to tell that the y8 is bigger which im guessing would create better air flow not to sure on that
