Default need opion and tech input on exhaust

ok so i debating on how i should re do my exhaust cause i tired of this egay system on my car i was just thinking in my mind hey what about a 2 1/4 straight pipe with a high flow cat and a resonator now i shure that set up would be really loud but would it decrease or in crease power cause for some reason when ever i disconect my exhaust it feels like i gain a bit of power no i do have a a factory cat which i shure is burned to no extent and a resonator with the egay exhaust system it just feels like when i my mid pipe comes un done it has more power just sounds like doo doo what do u guys think its a dohc zc motor in a 89 hatch si

stick with the 2 ans 1/4 and deffinately a resinator of some sort. the straight pipe sounds like ***. stick with stock or close to stock when it comes to bending the pipes. i had mine custom done and rerouted on the drivers side by the fuel line, but i had to wrap the line for the fear it would heat it up and make me and my car go bye bye lol

BTW.... NEVER "straight pipe", its pretty much fence post wit no mandrel bends & most importantly... it sounds so horrible. The catbacks online aren't THAT bad if u can't afford something nicer, but ur best bet is to jus save up and buy a reputable one.

I hope egay was spelled like that on purpose, but when you take off muffler and resonator than flow increases relating to powergain. back pressure is need for usable torque, other wise everyone would run 4" exhaust. No need to go much over 2.25, get at least a resonator and muffler, and run a test pipe if you must.
