Default swap, now not running right.

Hi, I have a 99 civic hx that had a b16a2 when I bought it, spun a rodbearing, yadda yadda, so I put in a b16a1 now I isn't running right. It doesn't want to idle, and at about 1100-1500rpms it surges. The car is also GUTLESS.The only thing I had to do during the swap was legnthen the iac not sure if thats what it is(on the back of the intake manifold) connector about 5 inches, Didn't switch them, used the same size wire, and soldered them correctly.

Anything else I should check?
thanks.

edit: also, the car has a vtec controller, and it says the throttle is always 0%

I took of the iac and cleaned the little screen on it, and the tps is good.
at first I had the MAP and TPS connectors switch(wouldnt rev over 1700rpm)
also the iac's are different.

Also the motor did not have a crank position sensor(like the other motor did), but I was told if I used a p30 ecu I would be fine, and that is what I'm using now.

The TPS is very common on JDM engines to make the idel surge and jump between 800 and 1500 rpm. U need to either take that one loose and adjust it using a multimeter or put the TB from ur A2 on that IM. That should fix the surging but the gutless thing could b some many different things so we would need more info about how it's acting and y u think it's gutless. Any CEL or other odd things?

I forgot to mention that I took the I'm off the a2 and put it on the a1 because the a1 had a broken tps, and I didn't want to drill rivets.

I think its something with that aicv. Anymore ideas with that? Or anything else?

Thanks again guys

U don't have to drill the break off screws (looks like rivets), just cut a slot in them and they will unscrew like a normal screw. I personally haven't seen an IACV make the idel surge like ur describing but try the other IACV.

The a2 and a1 iacv's are different. does someone have a spare that I could borrow? if not, I guess I'll dig though the classifieds.

my friend had this problem with his H22.
we took off the iacv and sprayed some carb cleaner on the screen because there was some gunk on it and that fixed his problem, also check if the spring inside the iacv is damaged or worn.

I've cleaned it twice, and I tried takin it apart, and even an impact screwdriver wouldn't work.
