Default Painting Side moldings

I went today to get an estimate on geting them done. I have a few questions because all of these plases seamed shady to me. first Is it true that if I take the side Moldings off (civic CX) that the clips will break? Second Most of them tryed to discourage me by saying that they can't guarante it because the paint won't stick well to the plastic, is this true? and how much should I expect to pay for this type of work. Thanks in advance for your help.

It's true that a lot of places won't guarantee their work, cause the moldings are somewhat difficult to paint. A quality shop may charge you more, but they'll usually stand behind their work. As far as the clips breaking, when I took mine off, I broke a few, but not all off them, just take your time.

ok ive did this and it sorta sucks taking all the molding off without breaking the clips..you have to basically disaemble the whole damn interior to get them off from the inside...take off ur door panels and also take out ur back seat and the interior side panels that are in the back..then u can get to the clips and just squezze them together and pull gemtly on the molding...then they will easily come off...each molding has one clip that slides off..so after u pop all them off there will be one that slides towards the rear of the car.......also if a shop tells u the paint wont stick good it means that they are lazy and that they dont want to do it... paint will stick to anything if u do the proper prep work and use the proper paint...good luck

is it common to remove the side moldings and have the indentations filled in....thus "shaving" them? That's what I wanna do when I get my Integra....are there problems that occur sometimes after shaving the side moldings.

I had an integra, shaving the moldings on an integra is a hole diffrent story than painting the moldings on a civic. If done well it looks nice but I hear it's not cheap
