The best tire size depends on the CAR the wheels are mounted on, not on the wheel you're using. What kind of car (model, body style, version) will they be used on?

For an EK on 15x6s, 205/50/15 would be the absolute "biggest" I would go...

I forget which class it is in auto-x... But there's guys running 275/35/15s Hoosier A6s on those exact same ITR 15x6 wheels... scary LOL

Justin, who is debating getting 96 spec ITR 15s for his EG hatch... and is definitely going with 195/50/15 RE11s if I do pick up the 96 spec ITR conversion.

For your '99 Civic, you can go with 205/50-15 or 195/55-15.

The stickiest street tires you can get in these sizes are:

1. Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 195/55-15
2. Kumho Ecsta XS 205/50-15
3. Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 205/50-15
4. Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 205/50-15

Downsides of these "supersticky" tires are relatively short treadlife (15K miles, maybe 20K if you're lucky) and relatively high price (the Dunlop and Kumho are less expensive than the Bridgestone and Yokohama).

A '96 Civic hatchback uses smaller tires than a '99 Civic. That's why 195/50-15 is good for you, but a bit too small for him.

Oops, I forgot to mention that... I learned that from one of your posts a while ago...
