So the police have asked for my help in charging some local jackers. These guys got into my garage and stole my roommates Integra and stole the AFI twin scroll kit off it and trashed the car in the process. They also got a lot of **** out of our garage. About $15k worth. None of it was insured (we thought it was). The car wasnt finished yet so we didn't have insurance on it while it was being built. Basically we got ****ed. They also threw sand, rocks, and dirt in the Lasky built GSR motor.
The police found prints and are charging 2 guys. In the investigation they linked them to 14 other break ins and suspect them in more. They raided there houses and found lots of parts, including severa stolen motors, ECU's, and much more. They took the ECU's to the local Acura deaership and were told a couple of the ECU's were from a 98 Teg. The deaership told the police that if they can find a car to pug them into they can get vin's from the ECU's. So I'm wondering what cars they will work in. Is the OBDII Integra an OBDIIa or OBDIIb car? Just wondering if they could use my EM1 or if they will need my buddys OBDIIa Civic. Thanks. Also is there a vin code of any type on B series VTEC heads? Thanks.

good luck with this man, im sure theres a vin on the head somewhere i could be wrong though, but if they were smart theyd file them off, so i doubt a vin would be helpful
same motor = same ecu, as long as its in the same year bracket, OBD1 tegs i believe stretch from 94-97, i dont believe the switch to OBD2 was made until 98. a or b regardless, as long as your plugging them into OBD2 versions of whatever motor they were intended for, they will work.
i think 98-00 were obd2b (forgot what the difference was ... I think it was something to do with the smart keys?)

i'm positive. i had a obd2a-obd1 conversion harness in my 99 gsr. maybe it's a late 99 and came with the obd2b ecu instead? honda has been known to do things like that around the model year change.
1999 Integra are OBD2B. I have a 99 teg.
1998 I blieve that was the year it went from a to b but some one correct me if I'm wrong.
