if you want to diag it corectly you must replave vc gasket gromets 20-30 bucks tops clean everything it sound like your moter has over 200k and that is about rebuild time depending on how it was taken care of if you do not have the cash money to rebuild the moter then at least do the vc and gromnets so that the oil does not short out your sparkplugs

oh yeah wil the valve cover is removed i would check the mechanical timing and do a valve lash you don't have to but i would recommend it especially if you do not know when was the last time it was done

At 400-600 I would just buy a clean jdm single cam engine. But its your cash.

3-600 for rebuild kit
plus paying a builder or machine shop to re-hone, re-line, hot tank, resurface, fit and build will put you close to a G.

And its still a Single.

Thats the best idea IMO, rebuild is a waste of time for an engine that is to cheap n easy to replace.

thats true, a new engine would be better, but i would also have to replace the ecu and wiring, either way its bound to be fun

just by the questions he's asking I seriously doubt he could swap an engine....hence more research. Think about his first question. I do agree why rebuild a ZC when you can buy one for $450.00. .
