New to B series and all that so IDK if they all have this or what? It looks like a vent but what does it vent?

 

I would think it would be the cooling vent for the clutch/flywheel. My B16B trans also has this and I'm pretty sure it's for cooling....common sense sir!

 

i think its to vent heat from the clutch and flywheel. alows dust to escape too. the one with the rubber cap, to the front/left of it (if your looking from the front bumper) is the vent for the acutal tranny. my brother put a ctr trans in his old si and it didnt have the tranny vent. it was just a hole. didnt effect anything really. just a chance dirt can get in.
