I'm trying to clear a check engine light on a '96 Accord LX that i'm selling. I scanned it and got the trouble code P0540 with an actron pocket scan. I've researched and found this code stands for "Intake Air Heater Circuit". Can someone tell me what the h*ll an Intake Air Heater is?? i hate this useless non-descript codes sometimes. Is this just referring to a bad Intake Air Temp Sensor???

Help is Greatly appreciated.

It probably has to do with the Intake Air Temp sensor. Check the electrical connector and wiring first.

go by autozone or something and have them pull it.
