What header are you planning to wrap? Stainless or mild? I have heard/read a few posts about a header cracking due to wraping,

see https://honda-tech.com/forums/tech-misc-15/turth-about-header-wrap-796161/

If you are set on doing it to lower engine bay temps and potentially improve exhaust flow a little then you need to do it. It is a pain to do, gloves are normally recommended, but all I can give as input is that you should plan out what you are going to do. Most people wet the wrap first (probably so it sticks better for it will shrink a little as it dries and it makes it more health friendly, no dust/fibres given off). Look at giving the start and end points a 45' degree cut (to give a sharp ragged edge, in the lack of a better description). Place this cut area where its not visible (under the exhaust outlet pipe) and then wrap it around. I would start at the outlet then work my way down other wise the finishing part looks kinda messy. As for which direction you wrap is up to you, what ever you like better. You could make small cuts on corners to aid bending and you could use wire to secure it and that's about all I can say. Post pics when your finish!

Not sure why that is or if that is true. The problem with wrapping is that heat doesn't escape and hence moisture can be formed which can cause enhanced corrosion/rusting of the header. How that changes between a newly installed header and old one I don't know. All I can speculate is that wrapping old headers may result in a crack developing faster since its been exposed to heating and cooling forces for a long period already. Ie its older and more likely to give problems.
