Why does the transmission say 5 speed ?
Carfax it to see if it's a salvage title. If it's not. I'd take the offer. Atleast for a 2001 the mileage isn't that much from what i've seen other people having.
I'd take it. Just my .02

it is a good price for an 01 with that many miles, I wish i could have found a gpw haha, s2000s are hard to find in sodak period haha
It should probably be good title for that kind of money. I did get my S for 8000. 90,000 miles 2001. It did have the older interior tho. IMO it is not a bad price but there is a little wiggle room. Same argument as I made on another thread, dealers are in this for profit.

That is a good point, a dealer will always charge more for the same car as a private party because it is a business. At the same time the take some of the rick out and do all of the paper work. Obviously this paper work ins't worth $3k, but I would say it is worth $500, especially if it the exact car you want. You do have to consider that if you changed your mind in a week you wouldn't be able to sell it for what you paid for it though.

The tail lights on the 02 have chrome rings around them and look allot better IMO. The 02+ ECU is not the same, known to not run as rich in the upper RPM's as the 00-01's. Oil jet's are upgraded in 02 and is recommended for any high millage 00-01. The biggest thing is the interior and soft top though. Expect a used glasstop conversion to cost you around 800-1k w/o install. Sometimes there are better deals, just depends on if it's local and what not.
