Default Timing wire jump odb0-odb1 conv.

I searched the archive and this subject seems up for debate. Im setting the timing on my 89 std hatch with a d15b7 on a p06 odb1 ecu. When I'm setting the timing do I use the D4 to D22 jump (connector 2P) that is discribed in the manual from the 92 book or do I jump the service connector that is on my drivers side front inner fender. Has the connector on my fender been made obsolete by the ecu swap and repin? I have tried it and the jump on the fender turns on my CEL on but, is this correct?

You could do a continuity test and see if D4 and D22 go out to the connector on your fender.
