Ok so... my car starts and turns on and runs finally. Only problem is that im having an over heating issue. When i turn the car on and let it idle for 15minutes the needle rises past the middle and above. I did a wire tuck recently so i got rid of my heater core hoses. So i re-routed the one from the side of the head to the back of coolant tube (that sits hehind the block. Im not sure if the re-routing has anything to do with it. The thermostat is brand new.
Its a freshly put together motor. With no coolant leaks. Ive made sure that there is enough coolant and everything. downpipe has heatwrap. Exhuats side has blanket. Hood is off. 14" high cfm fan is coming on. I just dont get it.
Any suggestions.
SECOND QUESTION
Im running 13" lensos for the drag strip and looking for an upgraded braking system. But everything is way bigger. What are you 13" lenso guys running?

stock brakes work fine for pretty much everyone
i know some, i included are in fact running drums in the rear too and we have no stopping problems
put a set of good pads in place and call it a day

im running stock GSR brakes and stop at 140+ with no problem and that is with only front brakes.... as far as the over heating issue i had the same problem with my car ever since i sleeved it the only thing that i noticed helped was make sure you bleed the system good and when i put a FAL fan and fluidyne RAD the over heating stopped .i also just capped off my heater core lines

Ive seen a lot of cars with all of the lines capped off, I had my lines looped but today i capped everything and plugged the holes in the manifold and head for heat and IACV. It shouldn't overheat because those lines just recirc to the same place and the same water.

Well, i pulled the thermostat and everything went well. The temp didnt rise above the median. I can conclude that it was a faulty thermostat.
did you cap off the hose that runs from the t-stat housing to the intake manifold flange? from my experience, that is the only hose that is needed (if running a t-stat) other than the two radiator hoses of course.
hmm i havn't ran mine yet since removing hoses, i only have the 2 rad hoses and the thermo is currently in. I really don't know if i even need it, i heard that just gutting out the mechanical part is better than removing it all together.
