Good price or rip off?(D16Y8 head)
I'm looking into buying a 99 Civic EX head and putting it on my '00 LX. The head has 3200 miles on it, has ferrea tit. valves, springs, and retainers, ported and polished and a 5 angle job. Head also comes with intake manifold and TB. Also for sale with it is a crane cam(#252-0010) and a skunk2 cam gear. Let me know what you think of these prices? Low or High?
D16Y8 built head - $700
Crane Cam - $400
Cam Gear - $50
EX ecu and harness - $180

The head is already ported and polished......good deal
YOu can get brand new Crower cams in any spec you want for 325.
Cam gear..... ???? What good is a cam gear on a SOHC.....
ECU......
you can find better deals.

1330? doesn't sound bad. does the head come complete?(ie. vtecsolenoid) are you also getting the rail and t/b for that price? well then, it's a good deal 
i still need a damn solenoid for my $200 ex head... can anyone point me out to a good direction. i've checked out hondaautomotive, thepartstrader, my local honda parts and service shop, and a couple of other sites...
oh, here's a question that's been buggin' me, can i use a solenoid off an earlier model sohc vtec? are these units interchangeable?(ie. any dohc or sohc vtec solenoid). inform me h-t, thanx

Unless you are a diehard fan of the sohc, That kind of money has you over halfway to a good swap. Maybe not what you wanted to hear, but my .02 none the less

wait... ur puttin a vtec head on ur lx... your goin to have to wire for vtec i think... and might have problems with the situation of ur fuel lines.. i wanted to do this to my 98 dx hatch... about the same engine as yours only diffent intake manifolds... might plop right on for ya... as for the price its not that bad... but ide rather save that money for a b16 or gsr swap.
