Default 2000 s2k....need advice.

So i am looking into this S2k, its a 2000 with 76,000 miles.
Body looks mint, never hit or anything, clean title. Asking $12,500

Do you guys think thats too much for year and mileage?
Or is that good considering its good body shape.

Need serious advice!

me and my buddy went to get his new s2000 about a month ago. We rode 13 hours on a greyhound to pick it up (worst trip of my life.)

anyway, it was a 2000 and had 26,000 miles on it. Yes you read that correct, 26,000 miles. He only paid 12,000 for it.

Look all over the place, especially autotrader, people are giving these away. I believe there is a 2000 s2000 in atlanta with 120,000 miles on it for like $7,400.

I bought my 2002 with 65,000 miles on it a few weeks back with a lot of mods and expensive wheels for $13,700.

Well the one i am looking into is stock except with greddy exhaust. Its from a used car dealer also.

So comparing it to your purchase i guess the price is right.

i wouldn't compare it to mine. I'd compare to my buddies. His is the same year that you're looking at with 50,000 less miles and he paid 12,000 cash. You'll end up being in that car for close to $14,0000 after dealer fees and tax and all of that.

Is your credit bad or something? Why do you have to go through a dealer? Private sellers are going to be your best bets. And a lot of banks are giving out 3.9% on car loans right now which is a lot better than a used car dealer is going to do for you.

A buddy of mine heard from a guy that some other dude got his MY 06 for $5k with a hard top included!!!!

jk. Seriously, OP, just look at the same cars on every vehicle search engine you can find. Do a nationwide search. See what they're going for. Sometimes you stumble upon a really good deal, sometimes you don't.

Look up the KBB for the car you're looking into. I know that my MY 00 in EXQUISITE (better than excellent) condition with 34k was only worth $13.5k at dealer retail!!

Iduno how much the value goes down with 40k more miles.

Do your research first. If you come on sites like this, you will always be hearing about some dude that got an INSANE deal and expects everyone to get the same deal.

i wouldnt do that, just wait around for the right one something always comes along if you give it time. i had a 2003 Rsx-S with 64k sold it and took a huge loss due to the mods i put into it. waited around for a little bit and ended up finding a 05 S with 40k on it for 11,7

My friend was looking at an S at a used dealership as well posted for 14,000. I think it was an 02 with about 40,000 on it. I went with him and I broke down the salesman knowing that the car was not worth that much. We got him to agree for about 10,000 but he wouldn't accept a trade in. Just know dealers are always in it for gain, price will always be inflated so you just have to work him down IMO
