Default 1998 Honda CRV issue dying...

I have a 98 honda crv and i am having a strange issue that i have never come across with all my experince with hondas. So hopefully you guys can help

I was driving and was on my way into town when i stopped at the light then when i went to accelerate i made it 60 or so feet and it died i pulled off the road. i went to start it and it wouldnt fire back up. it was turining over and i could smell the unburnt gas so i am fairly sure that it is a spark issue. I waited about 24 mins or so and it started up so i got it into town and it died again so i waited and started up and so i got it to the auto part store and replaced the cap and rotor and coil. it got me home so i let it run and it died after about 20 mins of idling

to re cap:
Starts after being cooled down runs for 20 mins dies again
any ideas?
~Edit~
could it be that im getting to much gas?

as a Honda technician I have replaced literally hundreds of those ignition switches and the issues you are describing are not switch related. the only other thing that will cause the problem that you are having is the igniter. those are a little pricey but you may be able to get it replaced under a recall by the dealer. I know that sounds a little crazy, but I replaced the igniter in an '89 CR-X under a factory recall that I didn't even know existed. go to your local dealer and see if they may do that in your region. I checked for my region and it would not apply here.

hope this helps...
