Rear Tire gets worn fast
Tried searching but couldnt find anything(maybe i just suck at searching). But i have a 01 s2k and the drivers side rear tire gets worn really fast on the inside, i have had an alignment done and it still does it. I am about to put new snow tires on and i do not wanna mess them up haha. The car is completely stock, except for 17" buddy clubs wheels. Im a noob at s2ks i have only ownd it for 3 months so maybe its somehting stupid idk about haha. Any ideas?
If you're having tire wear issues, it's because of your alignment, or your driving...maybe even both!
Either way, get an alignment and you should be fine. The factory alignment has some additional toe in the rear, so the rear tires are going to wear a little faster than the fronts anyhow, but the wear should be even across the tire.

ok i had it alinged a month ago, but i really dont think they knew what they were doing, so i may take it somewhere else and have them look at it. Im just hoping my s wasnt in a wreck and it messed up the rear end even tho it has a clean title.
Ask them to give you a printout with the before and after alignment specs. Most good places will do this.

I usually go to brakes plus for alignments and they will always that the sheet, if they don't just ask and they will do a printout for you. If you are wearing down the inside more so than the outside, it should be the alignment.
On a side note, my brother took his S to the brake plus for his first alignment and they did mention that the camber is fully adjustable on his camber. So we are planning to take it to Import Sports to get a better alignment than what they can offer at brakes plus. Feedback has been great for the alignment jobs they do although it does cost twice the price.

definetley balance your tires and have them set your to back to stock another thing ive noticed ids that when you lower these cars when it comes to alignment they always need camber kits specially for wider tires

just go to a legitimate shop and tell them to put everything back to stock. alighnment, toe, caster, camber. look up UK specs on s2ki.com for a little more aggressive ride/stance. wright them down and give it to the mechanic and he will do the rest.

Make sure you give them the spec to align with, if not, they'll align them straight. If they do that you'll have good even tire wear, but you car will handle like crap. UK specs are more aggressive (more negative camber) but the inside of your tires will wear faster than with the US specs. If you want to get really technical, they should align it with you in the car.
Thanks for the info guys, i didnt know UK models were diff. Is anyone using the UK specs? Do the tires really wear much worse? I learned on my integra that havin negative camber really doesnt wear your tires too bad, its toe that eats your tires.

The before/after printout is the best thing, though. Make sure you get one, and make sure you ask them up front if they can do that for you.
Not true. If they have ANY kind of up-to-date alignment equipment, the machine will give the technician the specifications the car was designed to have. You can give them the UK specs if you like, which I have my car aligned to now, but any respectable shop should be able to align your car to factory specs without you having to tell them not to just align it "straight".
