The JDM is the more aggressive of the two.

unsure but no difference is found with the p73. i back to backed a p73 with no change in the 1/4 mile time. the jdm is less fussy though. the usdm will have a CEL for no second 02, no cfs, no second 02, no evap purge. the jdm will not

would you be so kind as to explain? not sure if that makes the jdm one more ideal for the setup. thanks HRTuning

I'm not sure how you'd come to that conclusion. The JDM P72 has slightly more *aggressive* maps. You're asking which is safer. Obviously, the JDM would not be your choice.

The USDM ECU has more error checks. The JDM ECU will have more aggressive timing and may run different fuel maps.

Yup. The fuel maps are leaner in certain spots.

ok i see. i may crack a sleeve due to detonation correct? any way around this without chipping? i have a vafc but would hate to use it. 93 octane? more fuel via fpr? if so how many psi? where would be a safer spot to set ignition timing? should i use the NGK V-power BKR7E spark plugs for 10.0-12.0:1 compression? ? also take into consideration that the cams will be zeroed out. thanks guys. sorry for the endless list of questions.

if you HAVE to use one of the two, use the usdm.. less ign on the low end.. stock b20 sleeves will split if you have too advanced ign at lower rpms with less throttle.
keep yoru cams 0ed out... b20 pistons suck for valve reliefs.

yes sir i am aware of all of this. what i want to know is can i run the jdm p72 using the methods i listed above. if i get the usdm p72, my buddy will charge me since that ecu is a little more chipping friendly and he wants to sell it. he will lend me the jdm p72 for as long as i need.
