Default CBR 600 1/4 times??

Ok guys. There's a guy in my office that swears he must run 9's in the 1/4 mile with this bike. He thinks this thing is sooooo fast. He said that he got it to 60 within a couple of seconds. It's a stock bike he just got the other day, and he has no clue about 1/4 times on cars or bikes. Does anyone know what they run in the 1/4 mile?
Thanks.

He probably won't make it down the whole 1/4 mile.

Well don't get me wrong. The guy knows how to drive a bike well. It's just that he hasn't ever drag raced. We're basically debating how fast the bike is down the track. He was saying he should cover a 1/4 of a mile in about 9 seconds, and I said it's more like 12-13 sec. I'm not too sure about 1/4 times for bikes and that's why I'm asking. It started because he said that no car could beat his bike, because it's FAST. I of course said that a Honda could beat him. Not mine, but a turbo'ed one for sure.

Well the bike is about 375 dry and he's 175. He said that it should have about 105 hp. What's an average 1/4 time for a good driver?

I think a 'good rider' of that stature should be able to hit mid-high 11's.

I guess I underestimated the potential of this bike. I was assuming it wasn't very fast because it's only a 600. Guess I need to do some more research. Thanks for the info guys.

Also, 0-60 will be around low 3s.

If it's a newer CBR600 it is capable of 10s but not 9s stock.

EDIT: If it is stock and it is an F4i it has more like 96-98 RWHP

I'm sure it'll cover a 1/4 mile in 9 seconds....with a running start After all, at a steady 120 mph a quarter mile goes by in just over 7 seconds (120 mph = 176 feet per second).

hahah, I got a 14.88 when i ran my 250 for kicks. This is a 4 cycle mind you. the f4i does something in the tens. Haven't gotten a chance to run that one. Rider definetely makes a difference.

Most 750's do a 1/4 in like 10.5 or close to that...most 600's...you could probably do 10.9 or 11...if you're a professional rider. But a 9...it aint happening junior...I don't care how good he is.

Thought the f4i's lost close to 10 flywheel hp over the f4s...

F4i Stock Specs & Dyno

Another Dyno Sheet

It's sad that the Ducati 748S only has 89.9 horsepower.

Nope, mine dynoed at 98.2@12,200 with only a slip-on.

To reiterate what others have been saying, no 600 will get into the 9s, stock. mid-high 10s at best, with an incredible rider.
