Default My car's going to shake apart!!

ok heres the story and please forgive me lack of terminology. last night i hit a pot hole getting on the freeway and lost the castle nut that is on the upper control arm ball joint. by the time i got to about 50 mph at the bottom of the ramp my car started boucing and shaking like crazy so i pulled over and had the car towed home. today i jacked it up and realized that the nut had come off and the upper control arm came off of whatever its ball joint connects to. so i then replaced the castle nut with new cauder pin and put the tire back on for a test drive. now when i accelerate my steering wheel has a nasty shake to it and in turn the faster i go the worst it is but as soon as i let go of the gas it goes away. please help? thanks B

no i learned i messed up the passenger cv axle. i noticed the boot by the engine looked different than the rest so i went to squeeze it and could feel a small circle inside so i took the boot loose on that side and sure enough a bearing and a lot of grease came falling out. so now i guess i could use a diy crash course on how to replace this axle. car is 96 dx hatch. appriciate it.

not fun at all ma. Im pretty sure there is a DIY in the FAQ section, nvm, i just looked. Ok first things first. Go get a 32mm socket and a very heavy duty breaker bar. Leave the car on the ground and bust the axle nut loose after you use a small screwdriver to unpeen the top of it. (Hard to describe the peening thing.) Once you get that dam nut off, And you may have to use heat to do it, you can jack the car up and start with the suspesion parts. I always just use a scissor jack to keep pressure on the LCA and take the spindle out of the UCA. The take the spindle out out the LCA. Then move to the Shock fork. You need to take pressure off the LCA now in order to do this. After that use a Pretty good size flat head and pop the axle out of the tranny without DAMAGING the tranny. Then go in reverse order to put it back in. Just use a small hammer to seat the new axle in the tranny.. Long post but hope it helps
