My 15"s Rub on my EJ8
I put 15"s on my civic about 2 weeks ago and since i bought them i noticed one rubs. The rear passenger tire rubs either when i turn left, Hit a bump, Or i have passengers in the back. I dont know if its because i need new springs or shocks. Or if i need an alignment.
I have the SSK Black slipstream replicas. i think they are 15x6.5 with a +48 offset(Correct me if im wrong)
The tires are 205/50/15. Falken Ziex 502's
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks

Where are you rubbing exactly? On the fender, or the inside wheel well? That offset is pretty high.. the wheel must be pretty sucked into the wheel well. Do you still have fener liners?
My buddy just had the same problem when we put a set of Enkei RPF1 and some 205-50R15 Falken RT-615s on his hatch. We had to roll the quarters using a wooden baseball bat. It took some time but it worked great.
Like ATYPR said u will need to roll ur fenders. If you have a camber kit in the rear you can adjust it so that your tire tucks in more also(more negative camber).

I remember hearing that the highest offset (without major problems) for a 6th gen Civic was +45.
I once put on some GD3 Honda Fit wheels (15" +48 offset) and it did not work at all. No clearance on the control arms. It sucked

2000EJ8- Im stock Ride Height.
95DC2- It seems to rub on the inner part of my tire. Im guessing on the springs? idk I took it an alignment shop and they did the front alignment. But he said my rear has no alignment adjustment.
ATYPR & VCH- ill see if the problem gets fixed with the stuff the alignment guy said hes gonna do. If not then ill use the baseball bat idea.
99 tw ej8- Im not sure if thats the problem. Becuase the only one giving me problems is the Rear passenger side tire. But ill look into it. And i just looked up my rims.. they are +38 offset. Not 48. sorry for the confusion.. Thanks
The alignment guy said something about that particular tire's alignment is really jacked up and that he has to do some stuff to it that will take a couple of hours. Hes charging me 250.. idk if im gonna get screwed or not. but i guess as long as the problem is fixed its ok.
Thanks for all the help and ideas guys.. Ill let you guys know of the outcome when i take it to the shop on saturday...

That sounds like a very high offset number, which means it's probably rubbing on the inside, like on a control arm or the inside of the wheel well liner. Rolling the fenders is NOT the solution for that situation.
99 TW- Thanks Bro! i do too.
nxstasy- Yea thats what i was thinking Thanks. And yea im pretty sure its rubbing on the springs or the control arm. The tire seems to be tucked inside. The alignment guy said he can fix it. So hopefully everything is resolved.

He's gonna fix it for 250?!??! That seems a lil extreme to me.
One time my sister was rubbing on stock height on one side and it turned out there was a bent piece of sheet metal on the very inner fender. She had recently got into a fender bender and the body shop forgot to address that part. Luckily I was able to just even it out w/ a small hammer.
Make sure you eliminate any and all factors before paying that guy.

Opussum- Yea thats what i said. LOL. i havent had a chance to take the tire off since its been raining recently here. So hopefully by friday ill take it off and see where and why its rubbing. If its something simple ill fix it myself. And save the money for a later time. Hopefully it is.
Thanks for the Help guys.
