i just converted it to mpfi and to obd1 there was no vtec solenoid there it looked more like a oldskool fuel pump. could it be that who ever bought the motor before me converted it to dpfi and canceled out the vtec since it was in a ef.
i don't believe that is a vtec solenoid. doesn't look like any vtec solenoid i've ever seen. it DOES, however, look pretty close to a mechanical fuel pump, that was found on carbed civics. op, no you do not need that, just make a block off plate for that
Ryan is RIGHT
Mechanical fuel pump. the cam shaft has a extra lobe that taps it to create suction to bring fuel up to the carbs. they make block of plates for them

yes thats what was leaning toward. thaky you guys will go make a block off plate in a bit even though i think i can get away with usin block off plate from a chevy 350 thanks again guys.
Another question since im here already you think i could start the car and idle on 560 without tune just to see if the obd1 converssion worked

What do you mean by 560? Injectors? If so then I would say no... that motor will flood quicker then a broken levy... It may idle for a few seconds until the plugs foul out...
