Racing Seats in the R. Question and Suggestions.
Can you all post pics of your Racing seats in your R's. Which ones are the best bang for the $$. I am looking at Sparco and Momo seats but which ones are more comfortable? Which ones will hold you in better during track events? Anyone have any problems with mounting? Thanks for any advise you all can give.
Fitment depends on your body type. You posted pics of you and your hotties once, and I have a feeling that you could fit into Sparco Evo II and/or MOMO TOP Nascar seats.
As for what's better question goes, whatever fits you the best is the best seat out there. I personally love my MOMO 1000 Lakes seat. I only paid ~$400 shipped for fiberglass modela dn that's well worth the price for me.
My advice to you is to find a local MOMO/Sparco/Recaro dealer and try out seats before you buy them. Nothing worse than having seats that don't fit right.

I have Sparco Evos in my car. Really great seats.
Just bought a set of Momo Cup-GT seats (because I thought that they would be a direct fit with my reversed Mugen sliders - however, they do not and I will need to use spacers).
Both seats are very similar in dimensions and both are of very high quality.
Am selling the Sparcos if anyone is interested.

Yoshi, can those Mugen rails fit a Sparco EVO CF? Im getting one soon and I need to find a side mount slider rail.
Mugen rails do not fit Sparco Evo seats. The Evo seats are about 20mm too wide.
Recaro SRDs are nice but do not compare to a real bucket seat in terms of support. They also weight 35 lbs each, whereas buckets weigh about 14 lbs.

Just for the record regarding bastardizing seats and rails:
A Regaro SP-G (or SP-A) will bolt right up to a Mugen S1 rail. For those perfectionists: the difference in the width of the seats is a negligible 5mm.
However, it will only fit in the upper most set of holes. This results in a seat height somewhere between teh S1 seat and stock OEM seat--with still plenty of headroom for your helmet or fist shaking. (This works for me since I'm not all that tall and remember kiddies, you gotta be able to see where you want to go if you wanna drive...fast especially)
As a comparison between the two, the Recaro SP-G/A is a narrower seat (where the Mugen is narrow at the hips and widens towards the thighs) and has a little bit more additional padding (which is also adjustable). And a little bit of lumbar support. I do like the fabric of the Mugen S1 seat better though. In terms of comfort, both are very nice seats and I would be hard pressed to choose one over another.
Bottom line is one is FIA homogolated (Recaro) and one isn't (Mugen) if that is of any importance.
Of course if you buy the Recaro seats, you can always use their aluminum brackets and bolt it up to a Wedge Engineering base: that is a sure fire way to go also. I don't know about the seat height comparison though since I don't know what the stack height of the Wedge Engineering base is and how low can you go with the aluminum brackets from Recaro. It should be pretty similar to the S1 seat rails from what I could tell when I held up the Recaro Aluminum brackets next to the S1 Aluminum brackets... For thse that don't have to worry about fore aft adustment, you can always drill through the floor pan and bolt the suckers up: doesn't get more direct than that.
Hopefully that helps somebody out there.

i love my evo, it's a fantastic seat, very comfortable considering how sparse it is, i prefer it to the stock seats even on long trips (it was fine for 12 hours straight down to florida, no back pain afterwards...an enduro-worthy seat, in my case) The only Momo i have ever sat in was not that comfy. Definately try to sit in some before you buy. OMPs are pretty nice....
OMP makes a variety of seats that will fit the Type R. They also sell the mounting brackets and a slider.
