I have a 94 VX with stock motor. When I'm just cruising down the road 40, 50, 60 whatever mph it seems like the fuel pump cuts out. When I press down on the throttle it takes a second and then power comes back. It only happens when I'm cruising I dont have problems if I hold the peddle down a little bit to slowly accelerate. Could it be the tps?

actually i dont think its your fuel pump it sounds more like misfire. does the engine like hesitate and then it frees up? and are you throwing any check engine lights?

 

actually it is the tps. i unplugged it and its runs fine now just idles high but it fixed the other problem so im off to the junkyard to get a new one thanks tho

 

well i replaced the tps an the problem is still there..... is there anything else it could be?

 

is it automatic or manual?

 

Any CEL codes? Did you calibrate the new TPS -- 0.5V closed/4.5V WOT?

When were the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor last replaced?

Have you checked the ignition timing?

 

manual, no codes, i did calibrate it, i dont know when the plugs and what not were changed the timing is fine

i think its this tps cuz it doesnt idle right now but it did with the old one

 

Does the CEL work? If so, I'd start with a basic ignition system tune up.

 

my ls is doing the same thing. Im assuming its the fuel pump, pretty much because my fuel pressure drops 15psi while it does it.
