whats up guys, my bike was stolen yesterday at school. its probably chopped up and parted out already. i know its a long shot to recover it or get any leads on it, but its worth a try. bike was stolen at cal poly pomona in ca.

doh... Cal Poly... I live about 15 min away from there (DB)... did you have a lock or anything on it? I just got my bike this summer and plan on riding it to school in the fall (UCI) but hearing stories like this just scares me.

 

Damn, that;s not good. Liability is only like $300 a year, should have gotten it

 

all u gotta do is pay for the comprehensive not ur medical on your insurance

im giong to cal poly slo this fall. i heard theres lots of car vandalism at cal poly pomona.

 

This is the exact reason why I put a tracking device on my bike. Bikes are to easy to steal no matter what you do to them. $150 for the device $5/month for the service. http://www.securatrak.com

what tracking devices did you look into? I got Lojack for my car when I bought it... it was a one time fee. I know $5/mo isn't much but I don't really want to have to deal with a monthly payment. I'd much prefer a one time fee.

 

If lojack is available in your area then this may be best for you. If you venture out of lojacks coverage area your screwed. The system I have is a gps/cellular system, where ever there is cellular service I'm covered. I can log onto it from any computer or phone and get its location. I can also build a perimeter around the bike if it travels outside this perimeter it will call/page/email me or do whatever else I tell it to do. There are a list of other features as well. I don't mind the $5/month since I am on a cellular service and I can use it whenever I want. If lojack was available in my area I would think about it. It would depend on what they could offer as a complete package.

Sorry to hear about the gixxer that was stolen, hope something good comes out of this, otherwise I hope the **** kills himself on it. At least that will be some justice. I hate fawking bike thiefs.....

 

You weren't stupid for not getting full coverage at $7000 a year all you need to do is wait a year to buy another. Just think what full coverage would be if you did claim it. Sucks about the bike, just save the money you would be wasteing on insurance and buy another.

My friend got his R6 stolen at Poly Pomona too....I just say that people shouldn't ride their bikes over there, unless if you really have to of course.
