vtec controller killerb thoughts
Ok I stumbled on a homemade vtec controller thread on another forum site. Basically the guy was using his tach to control vtec. And someone told him that hes gonna mess up his engine because of fuel trims oil pressure and so on. Then I thought If you have a chip or a tune that will give you the fuel trim you need to run vtec in the range you want(2500 and up) Why would it be a problem. I understand about why vtec kicks in where it does and how. But then you have the killer b cams. So what would be the big differance between putting my vtec constantly on with a tune than if I had a killer b setup?
oil pressure? Im running ge lsvtec kit I have constant oil pressure
Fuel?Not really concerned
loosing power? ok yeah at low rpm but who shifts tha low in a race
Whats everyone else thoughts on this?

NO.
Fuel and Ignition are why you should be concerned. Its the same as turning on vtec with a toggle switch. Yes vtec is engaged, BUT the necessary changes in the fuel and ignition maps dont happen. So you'll get some sweet vtec noise, but no real power gain and potentially detrimental engine effects.

People that use them build their motor for em. Why dont you just take your motor to get tuned the correct way instead of tryin to ghetto some vtec killers, that way you can make the correct power for your setup.
I would never do it to my car its just a thought. Like I said I understand how all this works. I was just curious. Me myself If the ecu cant control it, its no good. On a n/a engine anyway.

You really dont have to explain anything to me. I know it has to be tuned no matter what. I believe I mentioned that in the begining. Now for those that have read it what do you think?
