Default Gas Gauge Problem (96 hatch)

The problem I have is that my gas gauge is always going up in down in sportic ways. I can be at full tank, drive somewhere it drop 1/3of a tank. It did it in my 98 hatch and now my 96 hatch

Anyone else have problem with somnething like this. Can it be fixed, and I do have to just deal with it?

I have the same exact problem on my 98 civic . I will think that I am low on gas and next think you know, its like 1/2 a tank. Then when i fill up my tank i can drive for 20 minutes and like 1/4 of my tank is gone but then it comes back. anybody has any info on this?

someone needs to tell honda to fix their fuel-tank-sensor-float-thingy-ma-bob because I have the same prob. I'll fill it up and I'll drive and put about 35 miles on the car and its still in the same spot, but when I come back out later and start it up to go it's almost a quarter tank lower... Silly honda, cant do EVERYTHING right, whats wrong with them

My trip odometer is my gas gauge. Plain and simple.
0 means full.
300 means empty.
The designated gauge sucks.
