distributor cap fitment problem

I have a problem and need some direction. I just got a ctr swap and bought a new honda distributor cap for it. I got one for a 99-00 civic si The guys trying to install it says its too small and wont fit on the ctr dist. Is this normal? I dont think it is but any insight would help.

No its not normal. My guess is someone screwed up and gave you a D-series distributor cap.

well im hearing that the itr/gsr/ctr caps are bigger.

Part number is different, but I don't see why they would be different. Bare B16A heads and ITR heads are the same other than the ITRs being factory ported, they both have the same PR3 stamp. GS-R/ITR distributors and caps have identical part numbers, you can try either one of those.
