I'm needing some input on what tranny fluid everyone is running on your high hp setup. I'm currently running a stock tranny w/stock lsd. Any input is appreciated. I've tried searching, but nothing. high hp guys, what do you use for tranny fluid???

 

I have been recommended to run a shock proof 30wt.

 

i use oem honda tranny fluid in a stock gsr trans with lsd.

 

im not high power(500), but i use the same in stock gsr trans

 

OEM Honda Fluid, GM Syncromesh, Penzoil Syncromesh, Redline MTL... Ive used them all and they all work well....

 

I'm currently running penzoil syncromesh. will it hold up for 765whp Or should i go OEM tranny fluid

With the PPG and Amsoil the shift is very smooth and it's actually pretty quiet for the type of trans that it is.... Never ran it on the Liberty I had so I have nothing to compare to....

 

I don't make alot of power but I use that redline shock proof stuff. Very very stinky

 

Not high power but I picked up some klotz 70w90. My tuner recommended it, I want to see how it compares to Honda MTF.

 

I ran Royal Purple synchromesh for the last couple years without issues. recently switched over to Torco RTF and its pretty nice. Still on the stock trans for the moment.

 

if it is remotely like any other 75w90 and it is a syncro tranny you may have an issue getting it into gear. (well thats just my exp)

and steve yes, shock proof frikin stinks. we use it in all the shelbys with tranny brakes.

Good info... I've been wanting to try that Royal Purple synchromesh, but hadnt heard from anyone else using it... Might have to get some for my new trans. and try it out...

 

Royal Purple Xtreme gear oil 75w90 or Redline extreme shock fluid here... I like the redline stuff.

 

me too.but the light stuff in my stock trans and the gforce oil in the gforce and you think the redline is sticky...lol

 

we use the red line red color. pain in the *** to get in our trans takes about 30 kin just to feed 5 quarts in. dont they also make a green?

dont think it stinks that much just a biotch to clean up.

 

there is green and a gold color too.

 

For those running the stock synchronous trans, won't this stuff be a bit harsh on the synchros? Or would that assumption be overstated? I'd like to try it, but I'm a bit hesitant to run it on my trans given the additives in it are probably going to burn through the brass.

 

The additives in it work perfectly fine with yellow metals
