Same question here.
I seem to see lots of rear wheel cars that dont have anything covering the trans inside the car. Is that legal?
Iam not up on RWD stuff but it seems like it should be covered in some way.

even so, whats coverng the output shaft? the driveline? etc?

Directly from NHRA rule book. Maybe they race at non NHRA tracks?

"Driver compartment of any enclosed or full bodied car must be totally sealed from engine and transmission. All holes in firewall must be sealed with aluminium or steel. Openings around all linkages, lines, wires, hoses, etc. must be minimized."

It's legal guys. it has a drive shaft loop around the input shaft. These transmission aren't volatile like a honda tranny. Some people cover them by choice because they may like the look. Most of the time these cars hav adjustable clutches in them that need to be maintananced after every pass. So it saves time not having it covered when they have to pull the tranny out between rounds and grind the disk down.

Its actually safer than it looks.

Why does every one knock Capital? It isn't a bad track if you know how to tune for the track and not just hop in the car and mash the gas. We pulled our best 60ft's at Capital which was 1.07 60ft. Our average 60ft there was around a 1.10. Also we have no problem running 192+mph there either.

I guess this is just my opinion....But it really isn't a bad track.
