Default "MUSHROOMED" AXLE END....

Ok so my transmission side axle was a being a real pain in the ***. Knocked it with a hammer after two days of using PB blaster. And it finally gave way.

But...........it the process of hitting it.. i mushroomed the axle end where the axle bolt goes..

Does any one know a quick and painless way to get this out? Should i just go ahead grind it out with a grinder?

This sucks...

I did the exact same thing to a DC earlier this year. I was pissed I effed the axle up, but I just kept bangin and it came out. Grinder might help, just be careful not to grind anything else up.

Just get another axle, they aren't too ridiculously expensive and if it's older they end up needing to be replaced anyway since the boots usually wear or dirt slowly works it's way in.
