i made a post earlier about how my EG SiR cluster has bad lighting from the 100-120km point. i concluded from the replies that this is normal for these clusters. but i came to a thought ....i remember when i had my crx and i put in the SiR cluster that it was dim as well and that it needed a ground to light it up a lot brighter. my question is, does the original SiR harness have a ground for its cluster that my DX doesnt have???? does anybody have a wiring diagram of the SiR cluster pinouts and of my DX cluster pinouts that i can look at? TIA

Said it before, but I'll say it again...
SiR gauge clusters are all pretty damn dim...

 

not really, I never had a problem with my jdm eg cluster not my jdm sir1 cluster in my crx. Very weird.

got the same problem with my cluster, and have had reports from friends as well, anybody??..im sure its a wiring issue or something, cause even my dimmer control doesnt work

 

no the dimmer doesnt work...but i was told earlier that there is no dimmer for the SiR2 cluster...or is there? i remember a while back my cousin was told by somebody at a shop that a couple of wires need to be switched around, but i dont remember what it was. the guy i bought it from said that the problem was very common, but why do most people have the problem and others dont?? my guess is that it has to do something with the wiring. anybody with pinout diagrams? anyone? i really want somebody to prove me wrong on this one. saying that most people have this problem just isnt enough for me. TIA

 

im sure a lot of people have this problem as well, it was bothering me for a while till i just learned to live with it. i am trying to find some jdm pinouts and compare them to the us one, but its not easy, but since im not alone in all this, i feel a lot better!!

SiR's don't come with dimmers for the lights... I should know, I've got one...
And like I mentioned above, even in my SiR, they are generally very dimly lit,
so perhaps you might quit looking for problems that arent there...

 

ok i see what you are saying....but im not trying to fix the problem that the whole cluster is dim, JUST THE SECTION FROM 100-120KM (doesnt light up at all). can you send me a pic of your cluster lit up at night EG6-SiR? im just curious. if not, forget it then. i guesss im just going to have to live with it

 

I tried taking a photo of it, but without the flash turned on the photos dont come out.. With the flash on, well, u just dont see the lighting...

Im a little late to this but, there are very few people who have the problems with the sections of the cluster not lighting up at all and I have not found the solution to it.

Mines has about 80,000km and its always been dim, they are not meant to be bright so if yours does not dim, do not worry about. They do not adjust, but obviously there is somethin wrong if just lights up partially.
