strange Problem with idle, iacv?
I have a 1998 civic with d16y7.
Okay, this isn't a regular idle problem, This happened 2 times yesterday and about 2 months ago. I am driving, when all of a sudden my CEL came on my idle rose really high and started bouncing around 2k rpm. When I go in gear its fine but when I let my foot off the pedal it jerks back and when I put my foot back on the pedal it jerks forward.
I know the problem it has because One time me and my friend were cleaning my throttlebody, and forgot to plug the electrical plug back on the IACV. My car was driving exactly like how i described it up /\ there. Idle rose high, CEL comes on, Car jerks hard when letting off the throttle and accelerating it.
I plugged back the plug and reset ECU everything works again.
then one time whiling driving the same exact thing happened, I unpluged all the plugs that go toward the Intake manifold, and IACV, reset ECU and everything is fine again.
Then the same exact thing happened again yesterday.
Do you guys think its a defective IACV plug? or IACV?? or Im just confused why the problem stays until I reset the ecu?
I was wondering if anyone ever experienced anything like this, or have any help, tips, or suggestions?

what cel is it first off, if its the iac then you probably have diagnosed it correctly. next you can try cleaning out you iacv and check for leaks on those coolant hoses too. if that doesnt work then replacing it is probably your next option.
Im sure its something electrical because its exactly like when I forgot to plug my IACV electrical plug in, (idle rises, cel comes on, acceleration, decel becomes very jerky)
