Crank pully fell of while driving
I read a few other threads of something like this happening.
I pulled over and looked under my car, luckely the crank pully and belt where still hanging out on the splash gaurd under the car.
I have the pully and belt and a washer.
I dont know if the woodruf key is supposed to hold the crank pully from spining, or if the bolt does that because the woodruff key isnt out to the end of the crank.
what should i do? just bolt the pully back on? where can i get the bolt from i went and asked at bumper to bumper and they said they dont have that.
any help?
my car has a d15 stock in a 91 civic dx.

Honda is the only place I would go for that bolt, unless you want to figure out how to remove it from a junkyard car. You can also buy the key from honda, or just go to napa and buy a key that is the right dimensions.
Same thing happened to me. BANG, then the 'check engine' light came on. The car ran ok so I just drove it the 8 blocks to work. Opened the hood and the crank pully is doing the croppie-flop in the engine bay. After work the car fired and I drove it to the intersection where it happened. There was my crank bolt it the middle of the intersection. No belt or key anywhere. I went to my hardware store and bought several woodruff keys. None fit, so I ground one down and put it all back togeather. Its been a year and no problems.
Anyone know the OEM torque-spec on this bolt? It is the toughest bolt to take off on a CRX.

83 ft/lbs is the proper torque. The bolt winds itself on over time, however. It isn't uncommon to need more than 200 ft/lbs of torque to get it off at the normal timing belt change interval.
yeah they are quiet fun to break loose, especially tryin to keep the fly wheel from spinning while bouncing on a breaker bar on the crank bolt, took like 10 mins to break that sucker loose ha ha.
