I've got an '89 CRX DX. It won't start, i've narrowed it down to the starter relay. I don't have money yet to get a new one, i was wondering if it was safe to just jump the starter relay, and bypass it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
did you test the relay and determine that it was actually malfunctioning? it could be as simple as the clutch switch, could be your ignition switch, or it could be the solenoid on the starter. here's how to test the relay if you haven't already done so.

I jumped the clutch switch, and it started. So, i'm guessing that the starter relay's fine. However, after i jumped the clutch switch, i drove it around for a bit. Parked it for a few hours, came back out, and the dash lights were dim. Is there any way that jumping the clutch switch would cause a power draw?

Hmm...any idea what it could be?? I jumped the yellow 2-pin connector with a piece of wire...i don't really know what could've gone wrong...?
did you leave it jumped while you went away? because that effectively defeats the purpose of a relay, which is to limit parasitic loss while the car is off.

They may not have changed out the pedal assembly so you don't have the switch.
If the car has always been a manual then your interlock switch may be faulty or not adjusted correctly.
Here's a clean drawing of it's location.
See if you have it!
The switch should only work when the pedal is pressed down.
