D.I.Y. lexan windows on hatch

i've been contemplating this for a LONG time, and now i have the means to get it done
what i want to do is pull out the front, and rear windows and replace them with lexan, i should shave off at least 50lbs, maybe more

good idea?
has anyone else done this?

i have a 91 too, looks like it's been rode hard and hung up wet but she runs like a bat outta hell, perfect sleeper

Yeah... my drag car 91' CRX Si as well as my circle track car that is also a 91' CRX Si has Lexan all around (they are two different cars BTW). Bust out the old glass and drill and rivet in the Lexan... boom you are done. If you are trying to put Lexan in a DD then you are a fool.
