Alberto Rodriguez 9.47@155 Small tire @ Etown
OMG where do I start. Last week I brought my car to millers “NRGTech” to get ready for the outlaw race. My dad’s shop is located upstate in Albany NY but I live in long island 5min from NRG Tech. I took the week off work just to get the car ready. I didn’t know I was going to be up 96hr straight working on the car.
We worked on corner balancing the car, alignment, building an intake box, and figuring out why my NLR would shut off at high RPM. We spent most of the time getting the NRL to work. There is some kind of interference with the MSD or something because it would shut off and turn back on during high RPM. Miller and I spent all night trying to figure it out the problem. We don’t know what we did but we got it to stay on at 5am on the dyno Friday morning. We made 820@28psi with my new vtec setup. Most of you know me for my non-vtec setup that ran 10.1@148. This motor was making stupid power and I got to thank my dad @ CCC racing for the sick motor.
So after we had the NLR working for a bit, miller kept tuning other cars until 8am. We left right from the shop to etown for testing. When I got to etown off the trailer I ran a 9.47@155 and got kicked out for not having my 9sec license. OMG the car pull so hard in 4th gear. I was cutting 1.5 60ft all day. I was so excited to finally reach my goal in such a short time. After Friday it all went down hill, if I ran faster that 9’s or 135 they were going to give me the boot. Also my NLR started to act up again and it would shut off every time I hit tow step.
I’m going to take out the MDS box this weekend and get my license so I can get the car ready for world cup.
I want to thank Miller,Tom,PJ,Bill,Greg and the whole NRG crew for letting me working on my car at the shop and getting my car setup for the outlaw race. I also want to thank my dad and brother for building a sick motor for me. I made a lot of new friend, Aldo,Jose, danny and all the guys from 1320 racing. I can’t wait for next years outlaw race.

Cogratulations, and that is what happens when you let the right people work on your car. Miller have been doing an excellent work in all the cars he touches.
I can't explain to you how hard this guy worked on this car all week. He(and everybody else at NRG for that matter), thrashed all week to get this thing ready. It was a monster on the dyno, I knew it would go fast, but I was shocked to hear 9.40's. AROD must be a maniac behind the wheel! Congrat's! You definately worked hard and deserve it!
