Hi Folks,

I wanna know if someone think this can be done... I want to send my stocker BBS RS outer lip to a machin shop to got them split and reweld the opposite way as simple as widened steelie are made...

Here's what i think

Step one.. this is the lip model in question.



Step two.. have is split in the flat spot that reverse the lip from going in and out.



Step three.. turn it 180 degres to have a old skool steped lip.



Step four.. Reweld it, machin it and get it rebalanced then repolish.



Do you think it worth the risk or is it gonna be more enpensive than just buying new lip. That way im takin my stock half inch lip and turn them in about 2 inch lip.

well i would also compare the price of getting new lips to just getting this done....i would like to know also because i have BBS rs and want a bigger lip lol gl

 

For the price, in my case i'm looking for 16inch lip w/ 30 holes and they are pretty expensive.. about 350$ cad a piece...

 

google kodiak racing wheels. they'll build you what you want and they're cheap, relatively speaking.

 

Buy a new lip. If you can even find anyone willing to do what you want (which I doubt you will), it's going to cost more than a new lip.

 

I'm in contact with Kodiack by now... I'm waiting for a quote and surprisely, they are in canada

 

They are just down the road from me, dealt with them years ago and remember them being helpful and reasonably priced, much cheaper than parting/welding and re finishing those lips to suit.

Kodiac will not respond to your email. They only will deal with you if you become a dealer. I tried this years ago when I was in the market for RM lips. In the states Blackforestindustries.com is one of their dealers. Not sure about who this is in Canada.

 

Definitely not worth it. User scirroco16v on MontrealRacing forums has a hookup at Kodiak ... I honestly don't think it's worth the effort and/or risk.

Black Forest Industries sells replacement widened lips. As well as new hardware. And center caps. Check em out.
