Odd humming noise...
I've searched but nothing really matches the problem. I don't know if this is normal on Type R's, but on mine its making a humming noise. When you are in, say a parking lot and driving around slowly, during the turns you can hear a humming noise. It happens whether you are turing left or right. Sometimes you can hear it if you are driving and making a turn, but its not as loud turning slowly in a parking lot. It's mostly driving slowly and turning that makes the noise, but when going faster than 20mph, switching lanes taking clover leaf turns, there is no noise. What could it be? power steering pump going bad?
Check your fluid levels. Power steering will make noise when low. I wouldn't describe it as humming though. If you can take a video of it someone might be able to help you.
It should hum while driving and but stop humming when the wheel is turned in the direction of the bad wheel bearing.
Actually, i went and drove the car again and its more like a whine than a hum.....one thing for sure though, is that it doesn't whine when driving straight or faster than 20 mph....
